December normally a cold month for most, has been a hot month for the Botti team at Green Ridge stables. The winners have been rolling in, With 4 winners already on the board from only a handful of runners.
December kicked off at Wolverhampton with Mezzotint winning well on his debut for his new yard and giving the winning connections hopefully the first of many trips to the winners enclosure. Mezzotint the son of Diamond Green was full of running and has returned back to Green Ridge in very good form.
The following day at Wolverhampton, saw Famusa just touched off in a competitive conditions stakes and Like The Night is also beating at the door, just finishing second in her maiden. They are both in very good form and should not be far away next time.
However the star of the show was Double Trouble, The filly by Royal Applause has been very unlucky in her past few starts her perseverance eventually paid off, getting up to win under a great ride from Adam Kirby to lose her maiden tag.
Ceremonial Jade the old stable star of Green Ridge gave budding apprentice Gemma Nellist her first ride under rules on Saturday 3rd December. Although given a great ride by Gemma, Ceremonial Jade could only manage 5th place but he is sure not to be far away next time out.
Monday the 5th December brought another winner in the form of Mazamorra, Running on well under a great ride from Andrea Atzeni, Mazamorra was a worthy 10/1 winner for anyone that backed her.
A trip to Kempton on the 8th December was worthwhile for the Green Ridge yard as Kingsdesire owned by Mr Manfredini won on his first time of asking.
Jakkalberry ran a very good race in the Hong Kong Vase on Sunday, although he only finished in 7th place, there was only 6 lengths spliting the first 5 runners home.
