Marco Botti got off the mark for 2009 in style with Miss Fritton and Kiyari providing him with an across-the-card double.
Miss Fritton set the ball rolling with her solid success in the opening mile handicap at Southwell.
The daughter of Refuse To Bend, owned by Giuseppe Piccini, stepped up on all her two-wear old form with a length-and-a-quarter victory.
Jerry O'Dwyer was aboard the 7/1 shot, who tracked the leaders before taking over approaching the furlong pole. She stayed on strongly through the closing strides, coping well with her first experience of the fibresand surface.
Fast forward seven hours and it was the turn of Green Ridge stable-mate Kiyari, who struck in the extended mile claimer at Wolverhampton. Despite being a touch free early on, the Key Of Luck filly was settled towards the rear before jockey Hayley Turner called on her for an effort shortly after turning for home. She responded well to Turner's urgings to master long-time leader Turn To Dreams well inside the closing furlong. There was one last rival in Hold The Bucks but the El Catorce-owned Kiyari held him at bay to score by three parts of a length.
