MARCO Botti will contest the Group 3 Winter Derby with Re Barolo this Saturday - and also has Tobond lined up for a Listed contest on the same card.
Re Barolo gave the Green Ridge Stables team a welcome Listed triumph when he took the Winter Derby Trial Stakes last month.
All has gone well with the six-year old since and connections are now hoping for a decent draw for the showpiece event of the all-weather season.
Botti said: "Re Barolo is in good nick and he looks fitter for having his previous run.
"He had his final piece of work last Saturday and Jerry O'Dwyer rode him and was pleased with how he went. He worked seven furlongs with a lead horse."
Tobond proved a progressive two-year old winning twice from his five starts. He finished his 2008 season with a nursery success of a mark of 84 and Botti has chosen to start him back for this year in the 7f Spring Cup at Lingfield.
Botti said: "He has been working well and we are stepping him up in class to see if he is capable of performing at this level."
