TRAINER Marco Botti revealed this morning that his recent Grade 1 winner, Gitano Hernando will not contest the Breeders' Cup next month.
The son of Hernando won the Grade 1 Goodwood Stakes at Santa Anita earlier this month and the Breeders' Cup Classic at the same venue was mooted at his next assignment.
But it has been decided that Team Valor's colt will return to Green Ridge Stables next month after which he will be prepared for a trip to the Dubai International Racing Carnival next spring.
Botti said: "We have discussed the Breeders' Cup and decided not to run. It would of cost a lot to take part and we would not want him to have another hard race so soon.
"He is very well and will come home after his 30 days in quarantine. Dubai in March is his main target."
