GRACIOUS MELANGE made a great start to her racing career as she struck in style at Kempton on December 16.
The daughter of Medicean was drawn widest of all for her debut in a 1m maiden at the Surrey track but that proved no inconvenience.
Jockey Kieren Fallon mangaged to have her held up in touch soon after the break and she travelled strongly as Elvira Madigan led them along.
Fallon had the 12/1 chance take closer order not long after turning for home and kicked his mount on to lead approaching the furlong marker.
Gracious Melange found plenty for pressure and ran on in eye-catching fashion for a most encouraging two-length win.
On the same card Ceremonial Jade ran a fine race in Listed company, finishing third, beaten only a head and half a length.
