Lady Royal Oak declared for Queen Mary

LADY ROYAL OAK is among 13 entries declared for the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot on Wednesday.

Trainer Marco Botti has been pleased with how she has progressed from her debut run and feels she deserves her place in the line up of the prestigious contest.

The daughter of Exceed And Excel showed good speed on her debut at Nottingham where she was only beaten a head and a neck into third.

She will have learned for that experience and connections will be hopeful that she can be competitive under champion jockey Ryan Moore.

Botti said: "She had a spin on the Cambridge Road Polytrack on Saturday and worked very well.

"She is drawn in the middle of the track in 13 which I am not sure about we'll just have to see. The (likely) favourite of Tom Dascombe's, Don't Tell Mary, is just inside us.

"She is a nice speedy filly. I am happy with her condition and feel she has come on from her first run."
