PRINCESS Taylor returned to winning form with an ultimately comfortable success in an extended 1m 2f handicap at Haydock on September 27.
The Rothmere Racing-owned four-year-old appreciated the step back up in trip from 1m as she justified 5-2 favouritism in the hands of Neil Callan.
A daughter of Singspiel, she enjoyed the quick surface as she delivered a concerted challenge down the straight. Having been held up early, she was ridden to lead over 1f out and dug deep through the closing strides to prevail by a length and three parts.
It was her third career win - and second this season - and trainer Marco Botti may now look to the continent in a bid for some ‘black type’ for the filly.
He said: “She seems to be a filly who is improving and her next target might be a Listed race abroad. But she does want top-of-the-ground so that will play a major part in where we go.” |
