TOBOND secured his second career success when triumphing by a length and a half at Wolverhampton on Saturday night (November 22). The son of Tobougg, owned by Giuliano Manfredini, got off the mark on his second start at Kempton, since when he has made the frame on each of his last three outings. The latest of these saw him take a 7f nursery in the hands of jockey Andrea Atzeni at odds of 11/4. The apprentice rider held up his mount but was always in touch before being ridden to assert over 1f out. Tobond soon hit the front and went on to nail the victory with the minimum of fuss. Trainer Marco Botti said: “We think he is quite a nice horse and that will be it for him now for this year. “It was a good performance by him and I hope he can keep going forward next season.” Botti was close to landing a double on the card but Captainrisk found one too good in the extended mile maiden.
