News on Green Ridge two-year olds

TRAINER Marco Botti sent out his first two-year old runner of 2009 to finish second at Yarmouth last week.

The Tale of the Cat colt put up a solid first run and looks sure to have benefited from that experience.

Botti said: "He ran a respectable race, coming from off the pace. He wasn't quickly away but made up some ground to be second and the race will have brought him on.

"I'm tempted to run him once more at five furlongs - there is a novices' race over that trip at Windsor next week - before stepping him up to six."

Other Botti-trained two-year olds who are close to making their debut are Fasilight, a filly by Fasliev and Fonterutoli, a colt by Verglass.

Botti added:"Fasilight is coming along nicely. She has shown enough speed for five furlongs and might go to Yarmouth or Wolverhampton next week.

"Fonterutoli worked well with Ted Durcan at the weekend and looks to be an early type. He may run over six furlongs at Haydock on May 16."
