Alex worked for Peter Chapple-Hyam for 7 years as a head lad and in that time had the derby winner Authorized under his care in addition to other good horses such as Dutch Art. Before that he worked for James Fanshaw for 10 years working up to be Head Lad. He was an apprentice for James Fanshaw, Michael Bell and Adrian Lee and has also spent a year in Germany.
Alex is married to Elizabeth and they have a daughter called Ella.
