Marco Botti's rise up the training ranks continues as the 2009 campaign demonstrated.
Marco, based on the Hamilton Road in Newmarket, enjoyed another successful season capped by a first triumph at Grade 1 level.
This came thanks to Gitano Hernando's victory in Santa Anita's Goodwood Stakes and showed that the Botti team is a force to be reckoned with not only on the home front but also on the international stage.
There were other significant successes for Green Ridge Stables with Re Barolo (Winter Derby Trial Stakes) and Ceremonial Jade (Lady Wulfruna Stakes) both scoring on the all-weather in stakes company before Fiulin (Further Flight Stakes) and Electric Feel (Radley Stakes) added to the tally on the turf.
Marco is quickly establishing himself as a trainer on an upward curve and other results since he took out his licence in 2006 have proved this.
The likes of Sesmen (Group 3 Prestige Stakes, Fleur De Lys Stakes), Snow Gretel (Listed winner in Germany) and Raymi Coya (Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes, Listed Michael Seeley Stakes) have already shown that Marco can produce winners in the big races. |
