Aljazzi wins Listed Snowdrop Stakes

Aljazzi provided Prestige Place with a third consecutive victory in the Listed Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes at Kempton.
Ryan Moore’s partner was produced deep inside the final furlong and showed a really game attitude to coolly account for Materialistic by a length and a half at odds of 4-1. Godolphin’s filly Laugh Aloud made much of the running, but she was swallowed up late on and finished out of the money. Zest came home in third place, another head in arrears of Aljazzi.

This has become somewhat of the race of Marco Botti – Having won this one-mile Listed prize with Kyllachy Queen last season and with Lady Dutch two years ago.
“We felt the filly was stronger than last year and were hopeful she could pick up some more black type. This has been a lucky race for us, it looked a good place for her to start off in and she won nicely. She is entered in the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket (May 7). We’ll see how she comes out of the race and what the ground is like, but she stays the extra furlong and did win at Newmarket as a two-year-old, so the track shouldn’t be a problem for her. At the moment, that would be her likely next race.” Added a delighted trainer Marco Botti

Aljazzi winning at Newmarket as a 2 year old. In the world renowned colours of owners Saleh Al Homaizi & Imad Al Sagar – who also bred this smart filly at their Blue Diamond Stud on the outskirts of Newmarket. Under guidance from racing manager Mr Tony Nerses.
