It was a super start to the season in Dubai with Fanciful Angel picking up where he left off last time he was in the UAE. Helping Daniel Muscutt to register perhaps the most significant win of his career when bringing home the Touch Gold Racing partnerships Fanciful Angel to win the Mina Rashid Handicap, in impressive fashion.
The five-year-old was victorious at the Carnival last year but had been winless since, although he had been running in races like the International at Ascot. Fanciful beat a good line up including Hors De Combat with George Baker’s Belgian Bill third to give Britain a clean sweep of the placings.
Muscutt said: “It’s great to keep the ride and I have to thank the owners and Mr Botti. “Sometimes he’s slowly away and can then get keen which makes it difficult, but the ear plugs make a massive difference. He’s done it really nicely, and given how he settled he could maybe go over further.” Added the delighted winning jockey.
“I am delighted for the horse, connections and team to start the carnival off in this fashion. He is horse that always runs a good race and I have had this race in mind for him for a while. ” added a very pleased trainer Marco Botti.
Fanciful Angel has been entered in the Godolphin Mile and the Dubai turf on World Cup Night at the end of March.
